Federal Litigation

Wang, Gao & Associates, PC has proficiency litigating many types of cases in the federal courtrooms for businesses and individuals from both the United States and China. Our federal litigation services cover a wealth of areas, including but not limited to commercial litigation, contract disputes, intellectual property, debt disputes, and labor and employment disputes.

The U.S. federal courts have jurisdiction over two types of case: cases that raise a “federal question” and cases involving “diversity jurisdiction.” The cases that raise a federal question involve claims under the federal laws. These kinds of cases have no requirement in regard to the amount of money at dispute. Cases involving diversity of citizenship or state of incorporation are disputes between two parties not from the same state or country, and that meet the dollar threshold of $75,000 for damages. We have represented Chinese businesses and individuals in the transnational commercial litigation on numerous occasions in many different federal courts. Because the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure universally govern the litigation process in all the federal courts, it allows us to easily represent our clients in any United States district courts.
